One thing that I do still notice, being American and English as my first language, are the oh so many things that get lost in translation. T-shirts, phrases on bags, company names, etc. Take the picture below, for example....I'm pretty sure no letters have fallen from this sign; it is the true name of this business....
Since my last post, I've visited Minami, home to a place called "America-Mura" which is a bustling district full of trendy shops and cafe's that are supposed to cater to teenagers and young adults. Well, it certainly is more of a place for teenagers (that, or I'm beginning to push the limit as a "young adult"), but I'd be lying if I said I DIDN'T enjoy my time there. The shopping was good and not far out of the hustle and bustle were larger, more "professional" stores. I also found a café that served what might have been the best desert French toast I've ever had. I mean, I might go back just for that desert. Below are a few pictures of the highlights of my day in Minami.
That's all I have for now. Enjoy some of the pictures below, and look for another blog in a month or so. I have a crazy busy August coming up, full of sightseeing and social activities that will surely make for a good blog or two.
